Top 50 global crude steel production companies in 2024
The World Steel Association released the World Steel Statistics 2025. This statistics ranks global steel companies based on crude steel production in 2024 and released the list of top 50 steel companies in the world (Top steelmakers in 2024). China Baowu Steel Group, ArcelorMittal, and Ansteel Group ranked the top three for the rest. In 2024, the global total crude steel production will be 1.885 billion tons, and the total consumption of finished steel will be 1.742 billion tons.
The top ten countries in crude steel production in 2024 are: China (1.005 billion tons), India (149.4 million tons), Japan (84 million tons), the United States (79.5 million tons), Russia (71 million tons), South Korea (63.6 million tons), Germany (37.2 million tons), Turkey (36.9 million tons), Brazil (33.8 million tons) and Iran (31.4 million tons).
The World Steel Association is one of the largest and most active industry associations in the world, with members spread across major steel-producing countries around the world. Members of the World Steel Association cover steel production enterprises, national and regional steel industry associations and steel research institutions, and members' crude steel output accounts for about 85% of the total global crude steel output.
