On the 3rd local time, the Iraqi Ministry of Petroleum issued a statement stating that due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in the interruption of international shipping, oil tankers were blocked from entering the Persian Gulf waters, and there was a shortage of oil tankers in southern Iraq ports, the country's southern giant oil field Rumaila Southern Oil Zone announced the suspension of production. In addition, affected by the regional situation, the Kurdish Autonomous Region in northern Iraq announced on the 3rd that it would suspend the export of oil from the Iraqi Kurdistan Region to Türkiye's Ceyhan Port. Iraq also cut crude oil production from the West Qurna 2 oil field by 450,000 barrels per day. Because crude oil storage tanks are full, Iraq has cut the daily output of the Maysan Oilfield (MAYSAN) by 325,000 barrels.
