Mexico seeks to raise tariff rates for Asian-made cars to up to 50%
Mexico's economy minister Marcelo Ebrard said the country seeks to raise tariff rates for Asian-made cars to up to 50%. “We will raise tariffs because cars to Mexico are priced below what we call reference,” Ebrard said Wednesday between an event in Mexico. “Our main goal is to protect employment, with an estimated 320,000 jobs directly related to trade flows for these products.”
