In February 2026, the world's crude steel production in 69 countries/regions included in World Steel Association statistics was 141.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%.

In February 2026, Africa's crude steel production was 2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%; Asia and Oceania's crude steel production was 105.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%; the European Union (27 countries) crude steel production was 9.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%; other European countries' crude steel production was 3.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase 3.1%; crude steel production in the Middle East was 3.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.1%; North America's crude steel production was 8.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%; Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine's crude steel production was 6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.5%; South America's crude steel production was 3.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.7%.
According to data submitted by the above-mentioned 69 countries/regions, their output in 2025 will account for 98% of global crude steel output.
Top ten countries in terms of crude steel production
In February 2026, China's crude steel output is estimated to be 76.09 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%;
India's crude steel output was 13.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%;
U.S. crude steel production was 6.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%;
Japan’s crude steel production was 6.4 million tons, the same as in February 2025;
Russia’s crude steel production is estimated to be 5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.2%;
South Korea's crude steel output was 4.8 million tons, an increase of 0.2% year-on-year;
Türkiye's crude steel output was 3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%;
Germany's crude steel output was 2.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%;
Brazil's crude steel output was 2.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%;
Iran's crude steel production is estimated to be 1.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%.
