In April, China's electricity consumption was 820.5 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%
On May 19, China’s National Energy Administration released data on the electricity consumption of the whole society in April. In April, the entire society consumed 820.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%. Looking at electricity consumption by industry, the primary industry consumed 11.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 2.0%. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 558.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%; among which, the industrial electricity consumption was 553.8 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, and the high-tech equipment manufacturing industry consumed 105 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 151.7 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%. Among them, the electricity consumption of the charging and replacement service industry and Internet data services were 13.7 billion and 8.2 billion kilowatt-hours respectively, with growth rates of 61.9% and 42.8% respectively. The domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 99.2 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%.
