In the first quarter of this year, China's import and export of goods reached 11.84 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15%. Among them, exports were 6.85 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.9%; imports were 4.99 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.6%.

In March 2026, China exported 9.135 million tons of steel, an increase of 1.298 million tons from the previous month and a month-on-month increase of 16.6%; from January to March, China exported a total of 24.717 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 9.9%.
In March, China imported 512,000 tons of steel, an increase of 143,000 tons from the previous month and a month-on-month increase of 38.8%; from January to March, China imported a total of 1.339 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 14.1%.
2: Rare earth
In March 2026, China exported 4,110.7 tons of rare earths; from January to March, the cumulative exports were 14,579.0 tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%.
In March, China imported 13,176.2 tons of rare earths; from January to March, China imported a total of 32,077.1 tons, a year-on-year increase of 30.0%.
3: Copper
In March 2026, China imported 416,000 tons of unwrought copper and copper products; from January to March, China imported 1.115 million tons of unwrought copper and copper products, a year-on-year decrease of 14.2%.
In March 2026, China imported 2.630 million tons of copper ore and its concentrate; from January to March, China imported 7.563 million tons of copper ore and its concentrate, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.
4: Aluminum
