Full-year data of China's shipbuilding industry in 2025
In 2025, China's shipbuilding completion volume was 53.69 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%, accounting for 56.1% of the global market; new orders were 107.82 million deadweight tons, accounting for 69% of the global market; as of the end of December, the number of orders on hand was 274.42 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 31.5%, accounting for 66.8% of the global market.
In 2025, six Chinese shipbuilding companies will rank among the top 10 in the world in terms of shipbuilding completions, new orders, and orders on hand. Among the 18 major ship types, 16 have the largest number of new orders in the world.
