The "Jiutian" UAV (SS-UAV) with a maximum take-off weight of 16 tons successfully made its first flight
As China's independently innovative large-scale universal UAV platform, this model adopts the design concept of "universal platform + modular mission load" and relies on independent integrated technological innovation. It has core advantages such as large load capacity, high ceiling, wide speed range, short take-off and landing, etc. It has a length of 16.35 meters, a wingspan of 25 meters, a maximum take-off weight of 16 tons, a load capacity of 6,000 kilograms, a flight time of 12 hours, and a transfer range of 7,000 kilometers. Its performance indicators are among the best among similar products.
Through modular mission load replacement, the "Jiutian" UAV can be widely adapted to diverse civilian scenarios: it can not only undertake heavy material transportation and precise logistics delivery in remote mountainous areas and islands, but also quickly restore communications and deliver disaster relief equipment during emergency rescue. It can also provide services such as geographical surveying and mapping, disaster assessment, and mineral census.
The successful first flight marks a new breakthrough in China's large drone technology. The "Jiutian" UAV was designed by the First Aircraft Design and Research Institute of the Aviation Industry commissioned by Shaanxi Unmanned Equipment Technology Co., Ltd.
The words "Heterogeneous Honeycomb Mission Module" are written on the belly cabin of the "Jiutian" drone. In the open area behind the tail of the aircraft, there are also "Cultural Protection Survey Mission Cabin" and "Logistics Transport Mission Cabin".
The "Jiutian" UAV is equipped with a quickly replaceable heavy-duty mission cabin and 8 external hardpoints. By replacing different modular mission loads, it can meet mission requirements such as air transport and airdrop, information support and confrontation, fire strike and support. In the civilian field, it can perform tasks such as emergency rescue equipment delivery and communication relay support, including heavy material transportation and precise logistics delivery in remote mountainous areas and islands, quickly restoring communications during emergency rescue, delivering disaster relief equipment, and providing services such as geographic mapping, disaster assessment, and mineral census.
