China's stainless steel crude steel production in October 2025, import and export volume from January to October
The Stainless Steel Branch of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association released the statistical data on the output, import and export, and apparent consumption of stainless steel crude steel in mainland China in October 2025 as follows:
In October 2025, China's stainless steel crude steel output was 3.6244 million tons, an increase of 78,700 tons compared with September 2025, an increase of 2.22%. Among them, the output of Cr-Ni series stainless steel was 1.9012 million tons, an increase of 86,600 tons month-on-month, or 4.77%; the output of Cr-Mn series stainless steel was 1.0901 million tons, an increase of 71,800 tons month-on-month, an increase of 7.05%; the output of Cr-stainless steel was 585,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 83,800 tons, or 12.53%; duplex stainless steel was 47,923 tons.
In October, China's stainless steel imports were 124,100 tons, a month-on-month increase of 3,800 tons, an increase of 3.18%; a year-on-year decrease of 34,100 tons, a decrease of 21.56%. From January to October, China's stainless steel imports totaled 1.2621 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 343,000 tons, or 21.37%.
In October, China's stainless steel export volume was 358,100 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 60,400 tons, a decrease of 14.43%, and a year-on-year decrease of 59,300 tons, a decrease of 14.2%. The cumulative exports from January to October were 4.1408 million tons, an increase of 0.16 million tons year-on-year, an increase of 0.04%.
In October, net exports of stainless steel were 234,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 64,200 tons, or 21.54%. From January to October, the cumulative net exports were 2.8787 million tons, an increase of 344,600 tons compared with the same period last year, an increase of 13.60%.
In October 2025, China's apparent consumption of stainless steel was 3.0459 million tons, an increase of 166,300 tons month-on-month, an increase of 4.68%.
