China's port cargo throughput from January to August 2025 increased by 4.4% year-on-year
According to statistics from the Ministry of Transport of China, in August 2025, the port cargo throughput was 1.59 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%. Among them, domestic and foreign trade throughput increased by 4.6% and 4.9% year-on-year respectively. The container throughput was 31.49 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%. From January to August, the port cargo throughput was 12.03 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%, of which domestic and foreign trade throughput increased by 5.2% and 2.7% year-on-year respectively. The container throughput was 230 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.
