From January to August, China's crude steel, pig iron and steel production

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, in August 2025, China's crude steel production was 77.37 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%; in August, the national average daily crude steel production was 2.496 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 2.8%; from January to August, crude steel production was 671.81 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.8%.

In August 2025, China's pig iron production was 69.79 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%; in August, the average daily pig iron production was 2.251 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 1.4%; from January to August, the pig iron production was 579.07 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%.

In August 2025, China's steel production was 122.77 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%; in August, the average daily steel production was 3.96 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 0.2%; from January to August, the steel production was 982.17 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%.
