The comprehensive PMI output index for August 2025, surveyed by the purchasing managers of the Service Industry Survey Center of the China Federation of Logistics and Procurement and the National Bureau of Statistics, was 50.5%, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month. This index is a comprehensive index in the PMI index system that reflects the changes in output of the entire industry (manufacturing and non-manufacturing) in the current period. It is formed by weighted summing of the manufacturing production index and the non-manufacturing business activity index. The weights are the proportion of manufacturing and non-manufacturing to GDP, respectively. Among them, in August 2025, the manufacturing production index was 50.8%, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month; the non-manufacturing business activity index was 50.3%, up 0.2 percentage points from the previous month.
