From January to July 2025, China's port cargo throughput increased by 4.4% year-on-year

According to statistics from the Ministry of Transport, the port cargo throughput reached 1.54 billion tons in July 2025, an increase of 6.9% year-on-year, a growth rate of 2.2 percentage points faster than the previous month. By structure, the domestic and foreign trade throughput increased by 7.6% and 5.5% year-on-year, respectively, and the growth rate accelerated by 1.5 and 3.6 percentage points respectively compared with the previous month. The port container throughput was 29.96 million TEU, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year. From January to July, the port cargo throughput was 10.44 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%, and the container throughput was 200 million standard containers (TEU), a year-on-year increase of 6.2%.
