The Qatar BH EPIC general contracting project undertaken by China Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. has been fully launched

Xinhua reporters learned from China Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC) on the 13th that the Qatar BH EPIC general contracting project held kick-off meetings in Tianjin and Singapore, marking the full launch of the international offshore oil and gas engineering general contracting project with the largest contract value currently undertaken by a Chinese enterprise. It will promote China-Qatar energy cooperation to a new level and is of great significance for promoting high-quality international oil and gas cooperation.

The Qatar BH EPIC general contracting project is invested and developed by Qatar Energy Company, with a contract value of approximately US$4 billion. The project is located in the Bul Hanine (BH) oil field in the Qatari waters of the Persian Gulf, about 100 kilometers east of the Qatar coastline, with a maximum water depth of about 40 meters. The project scope includes the design, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, and commissioning of more than 60 individual offshore oil and gas facilities and 40 submarine pipelines, as well as the renovation of in-service platform facilities and the dismantling of abandoned platforms. The steel processing volume exceeds 130,000 tons. The project has a record number of business categories and complexity of work content.

According to Liu Rui, Assistant to the President of Offshore Oil Engineering (COOEC) and General Manager of the Middle East Project Group, the project team conducted an in-depth study of the contract terms and technical requirements, systematically identified the key and difficult points of the project, and developed a detailed and thorough implementation plan and quality management plan through pre-management and risk analysis. It gave full play to the advantages of domestic industry chain resources, and focused on refined, standardized control and strong organizational management to fully promote the high-standard and high-quality development of the project.

It is understood that the Qatar BH EPIC general contracting project is the second Qatar offshore oil and gas field construction project undertaken by Offshore Oil Engineering after NFA, NFPS COMP2, ISND5-2, RUYA and other projects. In recent years, COOEC has been deeply involved in the Middle East market, giving full play to the "bridgehead" role of the Middle East Project Group's overseas projects, coordinating market development and project management in the Middle East region, and establishing good cooperative relations with Middle East oil companies such as Saudi Aramco and Qatar Energy Company. Its international project package general contracting capabilities have been highly recognized by the Middle East market.
