From January to July 2025, China's import and export scale to SCO member countries hit a record high in the same period

Since its establishment in 2001, cooperation in various fields has been continuously expanded and deepened, and the scale of inter-regional trade has repeatedly set new highs. According to customs statistics, in 2024, China's imports and exports to SCO member countries 3.65 trillion yuan (￥), which is 36.3 times that of its inception. In the first seven months of this year, China's imports and exports to SCO member countries were 2.11 trillion yuan (￥), an increase of 3% year-on-year, setting a record high in the same period. In July, China's imports and exports to SCO member countries were 326.05 billion yuan (￥), an increase of 8.5%, with both scale and growth rate being the highest this year. Among them, exports were 219.04 billion yuan (￥), an increase of 6.8%; imports were 107.01 billion yuan (￥), an increase of 12.3%.

As agricultural cooperation among SCO member countries deepens and becomes more practical, the potential for inter-regional agricultural product trade is constantly being released. In the first seven months, China's export of agricultural machinery and pesticide preparations to other member states of the SCO increased by 47.8% and 30.3% respectively, and the import of agricultural products from member states of the SCO increased by 6.2%, among which the imports of frozen fish, rapeseed oil and mustard oil, dried fresh fruits and nuts and rice increased by 20.4%, 33.6%, 44% and 412.1% respectively.

In recent years, the connectivity and cooperation between SCO member states has been further strengthened, and China-Europe freight trains, TIR international road transport and air cargo have developed rapidly. In the first seven months of this year, China imported and exported 677.4 billion (￥) and 251.01 billion (￥) to SCO member countries, respectively, an increase of 7.4% and 44.6% respectively, with a proportion increasing to 32.1% and 11.9%.
